Bellbrook Garden Club Annual Plant Sale

Cash, check, credit card accepted.
Perennials raised by club members.
Large, healthy plants at prices less than local retailers. Proceeds support club activities and
local charitable projectsthat relate to our mission.

ABOUT US
​Club Purpose:  To stimulate knowledge and love of gardening;
​to aid in protecting nature, trees, plants and birds;to encourage civic pride and improvement.​

CLUB MEETINGS  & MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
--Fourth Wednesday of the month, January through October, usually at 10:00 AM.  In 2025 we will have two evening meetings.  Click on Programs to see.  We do not meet in November and December. 
--May, no educational program. Instead, planting on city properties.
* Annual Dues:   $20
* Attend two monthly program meetings before joining.

TO REMAIN A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING: 
1. Attend four (4)  meetings each year.
2. Care for gardens at the and library during the spring/summer months.
3. Help in a committee.  Most meet only 1-3 times a year.
4. Contribute perennial plant(s) to the annual plant sale held in late May every year.

MEMBER BENEFITS:

• Access to all Ohio Association of Garden Clubs (OAGC) activities. All BGC members are members of OAGC.
• Opportunities to network with and learn from gardening experts at club monthly program meetings either in Bellbrook or on field trips.
• Fellowship with those who enjoy nature, growing things and community service.

​Organized  October 25, 1941. Member of Ohio Association of Garden Clubs since 1941.  Member of Region 16 consisting of  Greene, Clinto, Warren, Madison and Fayette Counties.

Painting of The Wright Flyer Iris by Jean Butler
Garden club member Jean Butler was visiting fellow garden club member Genevieve Klyce who had an iris in an arrangement.  The iris was The Wright Flyer, hybridized by Horace Wright (who lived near Bellbrook), the nephew of Wilbur and Orville Wright. Jean painted the iris  and permitted the club to use the image. 
Jean passed away in 2010. She was married to Harry Butler who was a renowned horticulturist and local TV broadcaster.
