VEGETABLE GARDENING: Planting, Nurturing and Maintaining Your Home Veggie Garden. Learn more about maintaining throughout the growing season. This overview will cover the benefits of a vegetable garden; types of gardens for all spaces; companion planting; crop rotation; plant supports; watering; fertilizing; weed control; thinning/pruning; mulching and garden pests.
APRIL 28 : CIVIC GARDEN CLEAN UP--Library, Museum and Large Pots on Sidewalks at the intersections of Franklin and Main Streets.
MAY 12: Members Prepare/Plant Bellbrook Civic Gardens for Spring. Areas include Winters Library, downtown planters and grounds surrounding Bellbrook Museum. Business meeting takes place at 9 a.m. followed by the clean-up.
May 22: Garden Club Plant Sale. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 51 East St. Bellbrook. Perennials raised by members are for sale. Proceeds support club work and are donated to charitable works in Bellbrook.
JUNE 23: Travel to Mary's Plant Farm in Hamilton, Ohio. Native, unusual plants.
JULY AND AUGUST PROGRAMS WILL BE FIELD TRIPS TO VARIOUS GARDENS. SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER WILL BE POSTED LATER.
